And the oil strainer inside the cases. I took it apart and cleaned it out. It was at least 1/5 clogged with yamabond
Hmmm I didn't like that part. I wish I would have thought about that before I joined my cases back up. Oh well.

Glad your back in the saddle!!

Bob told me how to take it apart to clean it. It was easy to do. Yamabond from the original factory build, My 2-3 times at the 1st hotcam install, remember the one that destroyed my exhaust valve because of the decomression pin hole being out of spec, and then the tranny rebuild from Alba. All those times of useing Yamabond was what was in my strainer. The mating surfaces are machined, just a thin layer is all that is needed to seal.

Its good to here you are up and running wshrdskin. Its feel better when you do some of the work yourself instead of paying somone else to put it back together.

Yes Mike, I know exactly what it cost me to get this fixed. $1927.75, that includes all shipping to and from. That does not include the port work, thats just purchase of parts needed along with a new one way and a new timing chain. Niether were broke yet, but. I also bought a new GYTR clutch that wasn't a nessessity to rebuild what broke.

Should be going to Pismo with in a month Sam. We can hook up then.

Ernie, thanks. Yes it feels good now that its all completed. There's quite a few little parts in them thar motors, I was a tad worried I'd forget where they all go. Thats where Raptortranny.com came into play. As i'm sure you know, Craycraft does a sweet looking port and polish job. I was very impressed with what I saw.
