Default Stripped gears?

i have a friend with an 03' Banshee, he has jsut put T5 toomey exhaust, and K&N with no air box lid, and jet kit, and we had it up at a drag strip the other night and he only ran it 4 times, and then we had to leave, and the next morning he took it out and it started making an aweful noise. So he pulled over and found out it was his chain roller that has been split. So he was going to drive back up hte road to my house and he couldnt get it in 1st gear, it was stuck in 3rd. finally he got home and we got it in first and he took it around the driveway, and it started making a whining noise coming from right around the front sprocket. We think it may be stripped gears, and if so what would keep it from happening again? OH by the way hes only had it for 2months and it still has a warranty on it, you think they would fix it, or would the pipes void it?

Pipes should only void the exhaust portion of your warranty...but this is Yamaha we are talking about...they'll probably say warranty is void because you rode it. Take it in anyway. Sounds like a bent shift fork or something...was there some heavy shifting going on?
