Raptor vs. Banshee Part 1
Ok that does it I need some advice on jetting my raptor. I'm at 2800ft I have a dynojet stage 2 jet kit with 146L and 148R 27.5 pilots and the needles are 2nd from the top. My raptor also has a Curtis Sparks X-6, K&N w/open air box. My problem is that my friends banshee is beating me When my bike was stock I could smoke him every time and now I just can't seem to catch him. His banshee has toomey pipes, K&N, jet kit. Could someone please help me I need to smoke him tonight. I'v tried the following gearing also, 13/42, 12/40, 12/42, any idea which of these will put me closer again. Thank you for your imput.

your only running 146/148!?!?!? My bike was running 170/175 exhaust/k&n proflow. Does it seem like its running lean??
Mine had a 10.75:1 comp piston, good exhaust, proflow, really good paddles, and race gas. And i could beat my freinds banshee with FMF SST's, K&N, boost bottle (even though they are pointless), like 310 jets, and hualers.
The piston was giving me another 3 or so hp. It was a knowticable difference.
Good luck trying to beat him though. I love beating banshee's.

First off jetting...your mains look fine but your pilot is way to big I recommend going back to stock with 3 turns out and your needle is to lean I think, try takin it to the thrid from top. I like my 13/42 gearing alot, just get a good holeshot starting in 2nd gear and stomp em good!

I have just about the same setup.I emailed Dynojet to get jet specs and this is what they gave me:
If you wanted to run with the air box lid off you need to set up the carb with a DJ165/DJ170 main jets, needles on the # 3 groove, go ahead and just adjust the mixture screws until you retain a good idle (usually about 3 turns). But, you also need to lean out your float level 2mm's. Follow these guidelines and the bike will run properly with the air box lid removed.

I went ahead and ordered the jets yesterday($2.00 each)
Hope it helps.
