Default Excel-Slingshot Tires

Has anyone used these tires and if so how are they?
They are 6 ply tires with 33/32 tread depth and look aggressive.
Check them out at exceltireandwheel.com.
Let me know what you think!

Well I have them mounted and so far I am very impressed with them. The guy doing a review of them used my pictures on this site.

Excel Slingshot Tires Review: Slinging Slop with Style | ATV Connection

Buyer’s Guide | ATV Connection

They ride smooth on hardpack and handle well. There is no noticeable wobble at speeds up to 65 mph on dirt road.
I only put a few hundred miles on them, no real deep snow or mud so more to come…

I think they will work out well as I like how they are firmer than the previous 3 ply tires. I also like how the lugs are dimpled and also of many individual biting edges. The lugs are not one large longer piece, they are made up of individual smaller lugs. Very nice build and quality from what I can tell. Thumbs up to Excel and Ronnies mail order!

They have a slight ‘rumble’ to them on the pavement at lower speeds but nothing too bad or objectionable. Only been about 10 miles on pavement.

I've been thru some mud in my hunting woods with no loss of momentum in low at about 5 mph or less. Same in some muddy water type pond with the water about 4" over floorboards with same results.

They (27” tires) will fit on any standard XP EXCEPT the 2009 models and all year TOURING models, the rear sway bar was flipped around and there are clearance issues. There are also passenger foot well clearance issues on the XP Touring using oversized tires.

I was thinking of going with the 27" tall tires but didn’t want the loss of performance and Speedo calibration. The 850 can power them without problem or need for reclutching but they are quite a bit heavier than the OEM Carlisles.

Default Ams Slingshot xt

I dont know but in the canadian market their sold as AMS slingshot
xts.
I run the 27x11x12s on the front only, out back i have ITP Blackwater xt 27x12x12s.
My machine is a Suzuki ltf500.
I had ITP 27x9x12s up front but they wouldn't turn the machine, i had to overcompensate steering in tight trails and they took steering effort.
With the slingshots its like the machine wants to steer with less effort even though the tire is significantly bigger.
I like how the front end tractors way better and turns like it should, without a push.
In retrospect i now realise i should never have put huge-void space tires on the front in the first place.

Excel is the original designers and mfg of the Slingshot but they sold the design to AMS, not sure if Excel is even still in buisness or making them.
AMS advertises these on the back cover of Dirtwheels and 4 Wheel Action a lot.
