What are good Winch Brands?
We have Polaris winches and have had terrific luck with them. Took the Warn off our Outlander after it crapped out put the Polaris on and haven't had any problems with them.
Make sure before you guys switch to synthetic on the larger winches, that you make sure the rope capacity can vastly exceed the winch rating since most winches stall out a much higher load than the names state. Polaris keeps steel cable on their 4500 lb winch because it can snap their Amsteel blue synthetic rope. They kept steel cable on there so they don't have to go to a larger diameter rope which would reduce the amount of cable you could put on the winch.
