300ex Vs. 400ex race
clock em again, you might find that ur method of clocking speeds to be way off. the vapor speedo on my 250x showed it to hit 53 on a normal day and thats flat stock, the 400ex might run 65 but i know any higher then that would be pushing it...
and then again them vapor speedometers are junk so i may be a little off from the real top end speed.
the 400 will take the gold but with the right rider the 300 may be able to get the holeshot.

300ex Vs. 400ex race
A 400ex might hit 65 with a gearing change or with a couple mods.... but stock I would say probably about 60...... the 300 might hit 55 on a good day in perfect conditions.....
If there is one thing I've learned in all my years of off-road riding, it is that people always seem to get odd top speeds...... and the thing is that top speed is all about gearing. I've seen two identical ATVs have different top speeds and it was later found that the one had a two tooth difference in the rear sprocket.... no one knew until we counted them they were supposed to both be stock but obviously one had a gearing change done and no one knew it.
I had a Warrior that would do 65 easy...... I later wanted more low and an realized it had a 15-tooth front sprocket on it, with 22" rear tires. I dropped it to 13 and probably dropped the top speed to about 55 or so in the process......
