I have a 2001 500 rubicon that we just put in a new hondamatic,oil pump and angle sensor.put it all back together and fired it up,the indicator & the d1 d2 esp just blink constantly.did all the intial setting procedure from the Honda manual and it makes no difference.just get a constant blinking. i start engine idle for 30 seconds w/ sub trans in neutral - move gear shifter (while in d1 mode) to the d position and check the indicator shows (d) . This is where the problem is,it will not show ( d ) the indicator just keeps blinking (---) anyone have any ideas ???

 

you said you did all the initializing procedures, did you reset the computer after putting everything back together. It involves, starting the bike for a few seconds, around 30, then drive forward 5 ft. Stop turn off the key, hold down the up and down shift keys. Turn the bike back on then let go of the shift keys and then press shift up, down, up. Then move the throttle to completely open then complete closed. wait for everything to finish you should hear the angle plates move and the screen change from (--) to (N). Let me know if this helps.
