Default 500 HO, rear end noise

I just purchased a 02' sportsman 500X and it has a loud clacking noise coming from the rear end. Polaris service tech replaced rear hub bearings on both sides and cv joints on right side. The noise is still there. Is it common to have some noise coming from rear end, more noteable when in reverse?
The Polaris tech doesn't seem like the brightest bulb on the tree so not sure if I trust his judgement...

I have heard of some being noisy(clunky) when you are riding. Does it do it in both gears L or H What about in reverse. I know my 06 SP 500HO makes some noise(sounds like slack in the drivetrain) when i am on and off the gas on the roads. Lets have some more details and we will see. Have you checked everything ffor tightness.

It makes the noise in L,H & Reverse. I can also get it to make the noise if I push it in nuetral. One thing I noticed this afternoon when I was messing with it is that it only makes the noise when the handlebars are turned to the right - either pushing forward or back.
The more I listen, the more convinced I am that it is coming from the inner cv joint on left side.
Can just the inside cv joint be replaced? The only replacement cv joints I can find are for the outer joints.

if it makes a clicking noise while turning thats most likely what it is.

So if it is the inside cv joint, can I replace just that joint? if so, any ideas where to get one?

I get a clacking noise going slowly down steep hills .. I'm presuming it's just the ebs working and locking/unlocking the rear tires .. I hope that's what it is anyway

NLWarrior01, that noise you are describing is just the EBS. No need to worry.
Herm, go to www.partsland.com to get the CV joint. They also have parts diagrams on that site to help you get exactly what you need. Good luck

I just replaced the left rear shaft assembly (includes both cv joints) and the noise is still there - what else could it possibly be?
The sound has not changed one bit since I replaced both rear bearings, new shaft assembly on right side and moved right shaft assembly over to left side.

I'm ready to rip my hair out. help!
