It's not quite like breaking in a new piston,but take it easy for an hr or so as the engine and cam heats up.Vary your throttle speed and you don't have to baby it,just no wide open throttle for awhile and it should be ok.

Thank you opt for all your help in this project I took on. The owner of the machine uses it to pull logs out of the woods for his wood burner. I told him I had never done a cam before but he said if you fail you are no further back than when you started cause it didn't run right in the first place. Thanks to you and the manual you gave me a link to, everything went as smoothly as i could have hoped. It's folks like you who give hope to humanity. Thanks again!
