actually there is a cable and lever for the cylinder decompression on the 230s models. and yes if you have the ungodly 228psi compression you'll need it. if its up on the compreesion stroke it'll throw you almost off. when i run alky in my engine i need my decomp lever. i am running currently 241psi. everything in my jug seals tight.

You can run the quad without it but like trailrider said if you have extremely high compression that thing is gonna be a bear to kick over. I haven't done a compression test on mine but I can start mine without using the decompression lever (not easily!). I use it cause even at 165 lbs I find it difficult to kick.

You can look on ebay for a perch and cable I would imagine...but it still may be hard to find one. I'll take a look and see what I can find for ya.

That might work...you'd just have to make sure that your cables and clutch lever will work with it and your machine. Never heard of anyone else doing this though. If it works it could be a good option for our 230s. I did a search for "230s decompression" and came up with one lever and one perch on ebay but I wouldn't spend $25 apiece for them unless there were no other options.

i got a moose perch very similar to that. it works great. the only issue im having is that the way the perch is designed, its a long reach to drag that clutch in. im going to make a block for it so the lever wont go out so far or im going to buy another lever to fit it different. but i love having the decomp lever a finger away on that perch.
