Default raptor 250

today i went to my sort of local cycle store. i checked out the raptor 250 and honda 250 and 300ex. The salesman said that the 250 was a good beginner atv for me(im 15) and same with the 250 and 300ex. I sat on the 400 ones which to me where to big and i need help choosing which one will work well?

how big are you? the raptor beat both the 250 and 300ex in a shootout and it is the best looking quad out of all them but you should look into the 400ex its a great quad for someone like you to begin with. you dont want to get something that is goging to bore you next year and the 400ex has a load of hop-ups

Forget the suzuki 250, it's the worst out of all of them. If you're going to get something in the 250 class the raptor 250 is def the way to go. It may not be as fast as the 400 class machines, but the suspension is way ahead of the other 250's.

it is shaft driven which is not so great for a sport quad....so is the 250ex. your best bets would be to go with a raptor 250 it is the best beginner quad it fast extremely light and very nimble it aslo has the best suspention of all the 250 and 300s

all in all the raptor outdose all the other 250s and even the 300ex
it has better suspention travel
faster motor
sweetest looking
its also the lightest by a good 30-40 pounds
and its chain driven
ive had a 250ex and i got bored with it pretty fast i would trade it for a rappy jr. anyday your best bets would to be to stay away from the suzuki 250....when you want something bigger and faster then you should look into the suzuki ltz400

I think there somewhere in the 52-55 range, which is good for a 4 stroke 250. I don't know how the gearing is on them, if they're like most yamahas they're geared low so they might not hit 55 until you change out the front sprocket.

i know that the raptor is faster then a 250ex and my 250ex goes about 54-55 so id say the raptor goes about somwhere between 55-60

250ex might top out at 48 downhill with a strong tailwind, no more than that. The gearing is way too low to hit 55.
