2002 Yamaha kodiak 4x4 engine removal
hey guys,
I got a quad for a really good price because it needs work. I must be dumb because I can't get the engine out. I have removed all connections, pulled the rear end and took all the engine bolts out except one that I can't figure out. It is the rear upper pass thru bolt. Took the nut off and the bolt won't slide out. It looks like there is a spacer/sleeve the bolt goes thru but when I turn the bolt the spacer/sleeve turns as well. I can't take off the engine mounts from the frame because they are welded on. Some advice please.

4 wheel drive quit
When I drive down the road I litteraly feel the machine lift up, not a surge in power. The a few seconds later, the machine seems to come back down.
I also hear some clunking by the right frt tire.
I has some work done on the 4 wheel drive last yr, even though it doesnt work, it feels like it's trying to engage and disengage going down the road.

I just sold my 01 Kodiak project. Hit in the front, but one sweet-driving ATV, with full auto, and a very effective engine braking system. This was the nicest looking and driving utility ATV I have ever had.
MERRYMAN is correct that you rarely have to remove the engine, even with major damage to fix.
