Default 2011 big bear starting issues

I bought my used big bear back in August I haven't had any issues other than an axel seal recently when I hit the start button the solinoid clicks if I hit it a few times it will start eventually it dosent sound weak when it starts but it is a original battery so I replaced the solinoid same problem all connections look clean and tight also if I ride it for a while and restart it it doesn't do it as bad

Almost certain to be the starter brushes worn out, sometimes they connect, sometimes they don't. I always go for new brushes unless something else is wrong when you split the starter motor. They are not expensive, and those cheap new Chinese starters are of dubious quality.

I agree, I had the same problem awhile back and the starter brushes were shot

If its got the original battery, its probably about shot too. 5 years for an atv battery is a great run.

It surprises me that the starter would be going bad at only 1900 miles

you can take a jumper wire from positive battery terminal directly to starter and if it doesn't spin then the problem is with the starter

I just finished this test it worked great until the wire got hot and started melting so what to look for now?

take a meter and see if 12 volts is getting to the starter when pushing the electric start button

This is the test for starters and solenoids. Don't use a meter, you are testing for power not volts. Get a fairly high wattage 12v test lamp and wire it between the live terminal on the starter and earth. Switch on, press the start button, if the starter works, switch the engine off then back on and try again, keep on doing this until the fault occurs. If the light still comes on, you have a faulty starter, if it doesn't but the solenoid clicks, you have a faulty solenoid. If the solenoid doesn't click you have a fault in the solenoid, the button, or it's circuit.

My wife's 2010 Grizzly 450 does the same thing. Except when I put a charge on it for a few minutes if it has been sitting a while. I'd vote for battery. Hers has only 800 miles but factory battery.
