Ask the Editors: HISUN Engines are Clones of What?
HISUN says it’s their most asked question.

Dear ATVC: HISUN’s 1000cc motor is a knockoff of what name brand engine?

While it is true that many Chinese off-road manufacturers simply create clone engines from older Japanese patents, HISUN prides itself on relying upon no such trickery.

HISUN Motors (Chongqing Huansong Industrial Co. Ltd.) manufactures all HISUN products (including their flagship 976cc V-Twin EFI engine) in a state-of-the-art 7.1 million square foot facility located in Chongqing, China.

Since manufacturing their very first engine in 1996, the HISUN engine manufacturing process from Product Development, Proto-Typing, Die-Casting, Machining, Assembly and Dyno-Testing are performed in-house by the HISUN R&D Engineering Team.

According to their website: Year-after-year one of the most searched terms on Google as it pertains to HISUN Motors is “Who makes the HISUN engine?” and the answer is simple, HISUN does.
