Yamoto 150cc Review

My ATV also just "stopped and wouldn't go forward..." it was the rear axle. My ATV did not come with the sleeve spacers over the rear axle, and the rear sprocket moved over to where it was not on the splined part of the shaft, so it just spun on the shaft. You might check and see if the sprocket is moving (also the bolts shearing could cause the same thing, the sprocket bolts were covered earlier as one of the things to change right away). Otherwise, it is pretty likely that it broke the belt.
Hope this helps,

I just removed the rear sprocket drive shaft and in so doing had to remove the CVT belt and pulleys. The pulleys both came off without a puller. I did use an impact to remove the nuts though. Upon inspection of the what I thought was a bent driveshaft I actually found cracks in the shaft. Also, the case bearing for that shaft feels kinda rough.
I have left 3 msgs for the dealer and 1 numerical beeper over a 3 day period, but no response. Does anyone know how I can get these parts other than the dealer.
Thanks in advance.

basseyl,
If your dealer won't call you back try Yamoto. See if they can get the parts or send you to a dealer that will deal with you. Also run a search on your engine, it's a Honda style GY6. Another thing to try is, look into the manufacturers that sell the 150 buggies. They use the same style engine. They may have parts or can get them for you. Take the shaft to a local machine shop. See if they can make you a new one.
And as a last resort, you may have to replace the engine. I know of a place where you may be able to get a replacement for a good price.
On the bearing, pull it out and measure it. There are plenty of places online to buy bearings.

Hopefully others will respond on where to get parts or other options to look at.
If you do find a place that has the replacement parts post the information.
Also post the information on how you got the quad fixed once it's repaired.
Good Luck.

You should be able to get any parts you need from Patriot. From what I understand, their prices are not too bad. If you need bearings, I would buy a good replacement such as Fafnir, NSK, or SKF. I would not bother with the Chinese replacements.

For parts, try Rick Mazur... he has an eBay store, Mazur's ATV sales. His e-mail is as follows:
"Richard Mazur" rictammazur@msn.com
He can also sell a reverse kit for the 2004 models, and it replaces the sprocket shaft... for about $200 you can get what you need AND add a reverse!!!

Thanks smb05 and everyone, I pulled the trans. cover off and it was indeed a broken belt. I was able to go to the link you suggested and ordered the belt. Im just waitin on the mail now. Sounds like those sprocket bolts are the next thing to look into.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
