I'm guessing it was a fix for the non-working choke. Something about drilling and tapping the housing maybe.

I sort of remember that one. It only worked for some, not all from what I remember.

I've also got a bent sproket shaft from the tranny (about 3/4 of an inch) thats going to have to be replaced. Anyone have this problem. I suspect #1 son managed this when the rear sprocket sheared the bolts. It appears to me that the relation of that drive sprocket thru the centerline of the swingarm to the rear sprocket requires the chain to remain very loose. I bet if I remove the rear shock and move the swingarm to its longest position, that the chain will then be tight and thats what sheared the bolts. Think this thing needs a chain tensioner.

This thing probably has truly 25 hours on it. The prob is mainly cold starting or lack thereof. I've cut off and welded in new angle iron for the pegs. The motor seems strong except for the cold starting. I've picked up from this forum ideas for k & n filter. I posted to an earlier msg that an 04 Dinli 90 front bumper will bolt on as I had the same prob with bottoming. The chain jumps off due to slack, but am hesitant to tighten as I think it gets tight during swingarm travel and bent the drive shaft. Other than that the kid loves it and just wants seat time.

i have heard of some here who put a space heater in front of the quad to warm it up before starting. As for the chain I dont run much slack at all and i put a shock on it that actually has some travel. Do the sprocket look aligned? Well did they look aligned before the shaft bent?

Glad you asked that. Actually, the drive shaft sprocket looks slightly inbound from the axle sprocket. It doesn't appear to have affected any wear on either sprocket, but very few hours.
