Default Thank you for the help

I had taken my carb apart, and, did not pay attention to the way the throttle cable and assembly came out. The first time i tried to put it back in, i bent the plastic guide that the throttle body lines up with- after numerous attempts, i took the carb back out and fixed the plastic piece- this carb is a copy of a japanese carb- too bad the guide isnt casted like them! Thanks for your advice- huge help!

hey 2manytoys :

I have a 2010 GIO Beast 200cc Atv.

Worked great for 2 weeks, oil was changed on first ride..

But now i had though i had wiring problems, It wouldnt start for the longest time. I thought it was a bad turn off switch. i have it all apart in my garage right now.. tracked all wires down, checked for loose connections.. The starter turns over but the engine doesnt start. Finally I ajusted air fuel mixture screw tonight, it started and ran for about 10 minutes idling... then all of a sudden it shuts off. Then it cannot be started up again right away. Just turns over but wont start. I thought maybe the stator is weak and not putting out enough power to charge the battery.. I had a battery charger hooked up to the battery while starting it. When i engage the starter, the lights dim on the quad. I had it started earlier and drove it around, without the battery charger... and it died after 5 minutes.. i thought maybe its killing the battery...or maybe its just carb. I had the carb off.. took it apart, was super clean. maybe a jet is plugged..not to sure how to check if they are. Wierd though how it runs great, no bogging, just continuous compression, no missfires. then all of a sudden it will just shut off when im standing beside it.
Please let me know what you think! Thanks so much,

Clay

yes it gets spark, it will start usually after i leave it for a while. as soon as you ride it around, after 10 minutes or so it will just die. then i will try and start it up right away but it will just crank and crank and crank but will not start up..

Default ATV flooding

I have just brought a second hand ATV 150cc, i was told that the carb needed cleaning as he left fuel in for 8 months and now it wouldn't fire. i took the carb out today and cleaned it as best as i know, im far from a mechanic, and put it back, the quad does start for a few turns but if i touch the thottle it flood's and if i dont i think it just cuts out, could also be flooding, any help would be great.
Thanks

what a great post this is. Yesterday i took the carb apart on my sons Sunl 110. The float needle was stuck. When I removed it, I broke the very samll wire that wraps around the tab on the float. I put it all back together and it runs pretty well. Is that little wire really necessary?

Default Float needle wire

That wire will enable the float [when the bowl is low on fuel] to pull down the needle if it does not fall on its own. If the needle was stuck you might have let gas containing ethanol sit in the carb too long [months] and it gummed up or corroded the needle or the chamber it sits in. Always treat ethanol fuel with a fuel additive if it is going to sit in something longer than 30 days.
