light problem
I have two 2008 jetmoto's one runs great. lights will come on bright when key is on without running....
other quad came with a blown fuse , one blown head light, and leaky battery, which is no good.
i replaced battery and fuse ... removed blown bulb. the other headlight bulb will come on bright only when i idle very high.
also doesn't seem to have the performance that the othe quad has, seems to putter when pinned. any ideas?

I just got a Tao tao 110
Spliffy, I think you are an angel. I bought 2 new 150cc Tao Tao ATVs for me and my grandson to have some fun on. One of them would not start and I spent 3 days (off and on) troubleshooting, all to no avail. Then I found this post of yours and once I pushed the kill switch in, it fired right up. I don't think the owners manual adequately described this anywhere. Thank you so much for your help.
Sincerely, George

And the paper work and owners manual are thin to win. Cheap unhelpful crap as are the dealer's who sold it to me out of michigan. It was over three weeks late and they are less than helpful wen called. Is this a better business bureau thing? Cuz sounds like alot of people w same problems . I'm getting ready to take a 13 hour drive soon and cram it up there u know what

This is my 150cc Tao Tao atv when the key is off I have power to my cdi but when I turn the key on I have no power and no spark everything is wired correctly but my coil has a green ground wire and a yellow and black wire that is supposed to be a positive but turns into a ground when on the coil but when I check for power on the yellow and black wire at the cdi it showed no power at all for that wire. Please help !

I suspect you are a bit inexperienced with using a multimeter as you are bound to get a negative reading at the black/yellow because it is earthing through the coil until the engine is turning. There should be no positives at the CDI with ignition off, or on for that matter if it is AC CDI which, from posts above, was never cleared up by the people Lyn was trying to help. Go through the tests in Lyn's sticky "help diagnose stator" at the top of this section. If your machine follows convention, it will have a black/red to CDI. On AC CDIs this comes from the stator, but on DC CDIs this comes from either kill switch or ignition switch. There will be a black/white too but this can be used on both AC and DC systems

As I wrote above 12v positive DC on any wire going to the CDI means a fault, and may well kill the CDI. Someone put a bare bones wiring diagram up last week https://atvconnection.com/forums/chi...lp-wiring.html if you have rewired the bike using a "universal" loom, it should follow this diagram, so check out your ignition wiring to make certain it does, then do the tests in the help diagnose stator sticky to ensure the new stator and other components are not faulty.
