Need info on gear box of Redcat 90
#1
My kids ATV has a auto clutch 3 speed gear box.
What I want to know is how does it recieve oil?
Does it take its own oil, or does it come from the oil that is used from the motor?
I ask because there is a cap on the top of the gear box.
I also want to know if it is normal that the gear selector goes around the world. Meaning: I can continually click down on the shifter pedal and the gears will cycle neutral, 1,2,3, and then back to neutral again. There is no need to click the up part of the pedal. To me, this seems like soemthing is wrong. Shouldn't it be that you would have to go up and down to get the desired gear?
Thanks in advance,
~Rich

The engine oil is the tranny oil... same thing. I use Valvoline 10wt-40 in all of mine..
The shifting is strange but..Id guess the stop pin either fell out or wasnt installed when the engine was assembled. I dont think it would hurt anything as long as the gears shift smoothly.

Most are up for forward gears but thats with a reverse.. My Honda 50 is a 3 speed... down for all gears..
Can you shift from 1st to 2nd and then back to 1st without going thru 3rd?
