although your carb may be different than the one in the video, the principle is the same. just don't use a drill to remove the screws off of the float bowl.

Hey guys, thought I'd post a follow up. I adjusted my idle up and down and up and down. I'm not mechanically capable of cleaning the carb.
So, I got sick of fighting with the stupid thing, and I just jumped on the 4-wheeler, and rode it about 10 laps around my yard, and was ready to just let the kids give it a try & see if they could manage to keep holding the throttle.
BUT, when I stopped the ATV to let my kid on, I let off the throttle, and it didn't die! It idled just fine. Basically it just needed warmed up and rode a little bit and broke in. Each time a kid rides it, it's getting broken in more, and I have to adjust the idle back, back, and back some more.

MY advice for those having the same prob - it wont idle - ride it for a few minutes, THEN I'd be willing to bet its warmed up enough to idle just fine. Thanks so much for the advice, I really appreciate it!

YOU ARE MECHANICALLY INCLINED TO CLEAN THE CARB. you can do it in the future if need be. why pay a mechanic a ben franklin for a fifteen minute cleaning. all you need is some tools and some patience. you can do it. trust me. but glad you got it going. just put in a fuel filter between the tank and carb, that'll help you. don't let the quad sit too long in between riding it and storage time. the ethanol will set up and try to gum the jets. so keep it going at least 2x per week...all year long. yes, quads are even fun in the snow!

I could probably manage to clean the carb, I just don't have very many tools to get the thing outta there lol. I had a guy come yesterday who is a semi-pro rider and he helped me a lot, showed me a lot of things to twist and turn and adjust. Between these forums and that guy, I owe you guys a bunch, or else wise I would have never been able to get it running! Now, it runs like a dream...as good as, if not better, than the Honda my brother kept insisting I buy. So thanks a million!

if you aren't mechanically minded you may have been better off buying a brand name.

The chinese quads do require more BASIC maintenance such as making sure nuts and bolts are tight, what you save in initial price, you will pay for in time with maintenance.

I look at the maintenance side of things as time spent with my kids teaching them how to look after something. Now I have a 9 and 12 year old able to drain the oil and refill it on their quads after every few rides
