2005 Baja 250 CDI question
Hi eveyone,
I have a Baja WD250 that I have gotten from a friend, for $250. So far it has been a fun quad but I have had some problems with it. First the clutch whent out. I completly welded it to the clutch bell. So I put on a Doctor Pulley clutch, this seems to be a lot higher quality clutch. Then the thing just died on me when I was 15 miles down a trail. Found it to be a broken wire going into the key switch.
Now I am wanting to rewire the whole thing with solder joints so this crap does not happen again. But in doing so I am wanting to put on an after market CDI. This quad actualy has a Linhai 260CC motor but the wiring is not the same. I have a 6 pin CDI.
1. Do these things realy boost performance?
2. What is it a DC or AC/ how can I check?
Also is there any other way to get a little more performance out of these motors. I have a home made air filter made out of pvc pipe with a air filter from auto zone, and the upgraded clutch.
I am mostly changeing this stuf out so when I part breaks I am not down for 2 months like I was with the clutch. And I can find it quicker. And why not boost performance in the mean time.
