Default Help Identify My ATV

Hi All,

I found a deal on CL that I just couldn't pass up: A running 97cc quad for $140. The frame was cracked in several places, but that's nothing a welder couldn't fix.

So now that I have it.... what is it? Can anyone help me identify make/model?

Welcome to the forums.

Do you have the vin#?

If so, try this and it may give you a little more info.

Sweet! I think the VIN survived the welding, so I'll check it out!

Thanks!

First thing that came to mind when you said cracked frame was Sun-L.

SunL makes a "Hummer" model that's 110cc that looks a lot like this one, but w/ a beefier front bumper/rack. Maybe that's the updated version?

Looks like my friends 110cc "GIO".

First guess without knowing, I'd say by the swingarm. But it sounds like it was cracked in a couple of places.

I'm fairly certain it's a SunL "Mini Hummer" that's missing the rear rack and plastic piece on the front bumper. All the Mini's I've seen have been 110cc, though. This one has 97cc stamped on the engine and no front brake. That's the only thing confusing me.

It definitely has the same plastics as the Gio, which is a rebadged SunL.

The frame was cracked at the top (under the seat) and at the bottom (rear engine mount crossmember.) No idea how it happened, but whoever welded it did more harm than good. I had a buddy sleeve the frame, reweld it and fabricate a stronger engine mount. It's solid now!

Now, if I could just stop it from overheating. It'll handle about an hour's worth of slow trail riding in 90 degree weather before it stalls out and calls it quits. Once it cools off, it'll start back up again.

I'm thinking of installing a couple of 120mm computer fans to get some more airflow to the engine.
