Hi my name is Joey i'm working on this quad. it is a roketa 250 RTU250w Lastnight i was trying to find out why my starter button wasn't working. well to make a long story short the battery was dead and so i used jumper cable to start the bike and it started well i left the garage to put my son to bed. came back to the garage and full of smoke so i cut the cable from my car and the quad. well it didn't melt the pos cable but it melted all the ground cables so i need a wiring diagram so i can fix it thank you from Joey

 

Was the quad running when the harness caught fire?

Any idea what happened while you were gone? Did the battery positive wire get shorted to engine ground?

When you say it melted the ground cables, describe this in detail... Did the big fat battery ground cable from the battery minus post to engine ground melt, or was it all the little small ground wires going all over the place through the wiring harness?

Does your quad have a fuse in the (+) power wire?

I think it really important to spend some time to figure out how this happened, so that it doesn't happen again to you or others reading this. You had an unattended fire inches away from a plastic fuel tank. You could have burned down your house (or even worse).
