i just recently changed the oil on my kids quad it ran good before i did it, but when i changed it i tipped the quad on its side 2 get at the plug. now it wont run at all? is it possible that i messed up the carb? i have a new one on its way for only 20 bucks i figued no big deal. but if this is not the poblem does anybody have any suggestions??? i also changed the plug. its getting spark but when i pulled out the new plug it was full of gas. so thats why i figured i messed up the carb.

The cylinder was full of gas? If so then be sure to check your oil and make sure it hasn't gotten diluted. Smell the dipstick.

I have flipped my 150cc quad over on its side, and even upside down for hours on end to weld on accessories, etc. I've never had a problem starting it back up when righted. The only problems I've had are slow oil leaks out the vent hoses, and the battery leaking a little acid out it's vent hose.

If you suspect the quad is running too rich try starting with wide open throttle to let in more air.

i tried that, like u said i also have a suzuki 250r n have had that on its side many times n it never caused any problems so im not sure whats going on! I have spark n definantly have gas i think the carb is just letting out too much gas because on on the bottom of the carb is that screw for over flow, i think thats what it is, when i open the screw gas flows out. i really dont know im stumped!!!

almost sounds like the float is stuck, possibly, like LynnEdwards said, diluting your crankcase oil. gotta check that. then it's shoving the fuel to it so as to not have enough oxygen to fire/combust (proper mixture), too much gasoline--flooding situation. hmmm..... can't think of any other electronic item it could be. hmmm... p.s. those carbs are easy to fix. easier than to replace........less wait time.....

I made a statement earlier about leaving my quad upside down for hours on end and not having any trouble restarting it when righted back up. After thinking about it I need to modify that statement. When I had the quad upside down for hours I had removed the gas tank and drained the carburetor first. I was welding stuff on the bottom of the quad. Dripping gas tanks and welding don't mix. I had no trouble starting up the quad after righting it and reinstalling the gas tank.

But I have flipped my quad over twice on the trails, righted it back up after 2 minutes and not had any trouble starting it.
