How can you tell if quad is charging

How can you tell if quad is charging
I charged battery starts up fine took the cable off while its running it stays on.after about a few hours driving turning off and on battery is dead ,could it be bad battery or is it not charging its a tao 110 we just bought it a few days ago any info would be helpful thanks

Start up the quad and run the engine at a medium fast speed with the headlights off.
Use a meter to measure the DC voltage right on the battery terminals. It should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts DC. If it does then your charging system is working. If it does not then it needs more troubleshooting. What voltage do you measure?
