Have you checked the fuse?

From the fuse the power goes to the ignition switch, and then on to all the other 12 volt powered stuff, so if the fuse is good use a meter to trace the wiring to and through the ignition switch.

yes i have checked the one single fuse it is good. my other sunl atv has a auto push in fuse but i cant find one on this redcat 90. Do you know if there is another fuse in there. If so i cant find it for sure. the fuse that i can find is the inline round buss fuse in the plastic holder.

Im got off work early today and am now goign to start working on it again.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, there is only one fuse. So next see if you have constant 12 volts at one wire on the ignition switch, and switched 12 volts on another wire at the ignition switch.

I reread your original post. You said you had no lights. I'm assuming headlights. and I'm also assuming that they did work before from battery power with the ignition switch on. Some headlights are powered directly from AC voltage off the stator, in which case they will not come on until the engine is running.

Are you sure your quad headlights worked on battery power before? If so it points to the ignition switch or ignition switch wiring. If not then we may have to troubleshoot the wiring through the brake switch too.

Thanks alot . it seems like it was in the switch. after taking the switch apart i found that the three points on the switch were broken and not making contact.

I ordered a new switch and will install when it comes in.

as for the headlights they only come on when the switch is turned on whether or not the atv is running so it must run off of dc power.
