Default Mid-size Quad

Hi, I was looking to buy a new quad. It is only going to be used on the street, so I was thinking a chinese one would be fine. It's a good deal, but he says it's medium size. I'm 6' 2" and I don't want to buy it and be stuck with a quad too small for me to ride. Does anyone own one or know if they are a decent size? Thanks

i got a 250cc. it's fine. i'm 6' tall myself....as for the street.......NO WAY! not me. the atv tires ain't good enough for asphalt, and neither is my skin and body...... i wouldn't advise the street. that's why they're called OFF ROAD VEHICLES, ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES. good luck......

i own a honda, a polaris, a yamaha, and i've had 3 different chinese quads. mostly hibird. the thing to remember about the chinese quads is this: it's not as robust as the japanese models, but still can hold up under normal wear. just don't go jumping it 6' or more in the air. it'll hold up. especially if you just cruise it around. they just require more TLC/maintenance than the japanese quads.......either way, it's a good way to learn how to work on them.

Never understood why people buy new Chinese ATVs when they cost as much or more than a used brand names. Are there no used ATVs where they live?

I,m on my 4th used atv ,I had a Yamaha 250 Moto4,350 Big Bear,Honda 450 Foreman and sold them all to people I know who still are riding them through all these years, I,m sure there glad they did not buy a New Chinese ATV, I was.

Yeah its a good way to learn how to work on an ATV. Because I had one and I learned how to take it apart and put it back together cuz it would break in an hour of riding it was about $1500 and I baught a Yamaha Warrior 350 for $2000 used. A much better ATV to learn on,reliable.

true..i pick up the chinese ones from people who don't want them anymore and i rebuild them for a little bit of nothing. TRUE, japanese ones are more reliable, heck, i hardly work on mine. but there is a market for those who can't afford a $1500-$2000 used name brand quad let alone a $4000-$10,000 new one. but they'll pay $200-$500 all day long for a chinese quad that runs. to each his own......

I'd love to get a used Honda or Yamaha, except my price range is about $1000 and it needs to be within 1hour and 30 minutes from where I live so I can pick it up. There are many in that range but they are always either to far or need a lot of work...
