Need Help! TaoTao 110 Remote Problems
#1
I just bought my son a ata110f quad and everything worked fine the first few rides. But now the remote control does nothing. Is there any test I can do to see if the box is fine or not. At first the alarm siren itself quit working, but the functions still worked. After a ride or two, now the functions dont work!
Any help would be appreciated. I am going on vacation with it this week, and would like to have it working properly.

Well at least know this:
You can always defeat the remote functions completely simply by unplugging it at the module. This changes things just a little - you can no longer kill the engine by turning off the ignition switch. You will have to kill the engine with the left handlebar kill switch instead. Else, all is the same (except the remote control functions obviously)
Have you checked the battery in the key fob?

sometimes the cheap remote fobs just die. these are the most likely points of faliuture:
bad battery (on the remote)
water got into the black box and broke it
lose wires in black box/wireing harness
bad contacts (on remote, to test this take remote apart and scratch the contact slightly with a key, it should transmit and start/stop atv.)

Never seen water or dirt yet, just pavement
Possible loose wires? I have quickly looked it over, and didnt see anything
The contacts work since the remote led lights up on every function.
Its like they are not program to each other, or the box is shot. Ever heard of this? I would like it to work to control my 4 year old. The quad is only 2 weeks old.

You can buy replacements fairly easily and cheap. Most use a nine pin connector to mate into the wiring harness (plus another two pin connector to the siren). They come in various levels of funtionality. Some have just four wires in the nine pin connector and only allow you to remotely kill the quad. Others have six wires which adds remote start capability. Eight wires have flashing lights with the alarm.

Bypass the remote unit completely (and get the onboard killswitch to work)
There's 2 connectors, a big one with about 9 pins. And one with 2.
Take the 2pin connector and short it out after you remove the remote box. Leave the other connector alone. The onboard killswitches should work now and you can just chuck the broken module.
