Default Yomoto 150cc

Can you suggest what might be wrong with my Yomoto 150, kids were riding it, it was runjning fine, then all of the sudden it shut down and we have no power at all now. Will not turn over, will not turn on head light nothing at all, seem like all electrical is not working. I have tried to the manual start w/kick starter but cannot get it to start that way either. Any suggestion for an amateur trying to fix this for his kids??

put a volt meter on the battery terminals to see what voltage the battery is currently holding. should be >12.4 v.
then check the positive cable, follow it from the battery and see if it has an inline fuse, if it does, check the fuse to make sure it's good.
don't know if the 150cc has safety interlocks, but go ahead and try, this won't hurt anything, engage the left handlebar brake handle(the brake light does not have to illuminate, the bulb could be burned out or whatever, but the brake switch would need to make/complete the circuit), anyways, see if you have power then.
if not, check the terminal connections at the battery, at the solenoid, at the starter, and the wiring on the keyed ignition switch. let's make sure the wiring connections are intact.

Welcome to the forum jn1987!

I would check all the wire connections... pull them apart and if they seem loose, use a pair of pliers and crimp the female side a little and put them back together. I had connections loosen up on my Jetmoto's and had problems with both running and battery charging... both were a loose connection..

Thanks for the information I will try to complete your suggestions and see what happens. I did get it started finally with the kick starter, and it ran for a while then my son said it just cut out on him again so it seems to me that there may be a loose connection somewhere that is cutting the engin off. I let it sit for a while and then I was able to starg it again.

Intermittent problems are really tough. Any and all troubleshooting must be done while the problem is actually happening, and you need to make sure that after you make a measurement the problem is *still* happening after you're done.

The first thing I would try is to see if you're getting spark. When the problem is happening quickly remove the spark plug, connect it back up, and hold the plug threads against the engine while cranking the starter (ignition on and all kill switches off). Do you see spark?

If you do have spark then quickly reinstall the plug and make sure you still cannot start the quad. Only then can you say you don't have a spark problem...
