I've not heard of a shaft drive 110c quad. If you search around there are VIN number decoders. Have you tried any of those?

There should be a safety interlock of some sort which keeps the quad from starting unless the brakes are applied, the clutch is pulled, and/or the quad is in neutral. Almost all chinese quads use the brake switch method. In other words the starter won't crank unless the brakes switch is closed (meaning the brakes are applied).

So is that the case? Does the starter motor only turn when the brakes are applied?

A four wire CDI means your CDI is DC powered. A two wire ignition switch is common for CD powered CDI's.

No stamps or markings on the engine at all?

Honestly, I wouldn't put too much money into it. You're probably looking at a 400-500 dollar quad when it was new. Without shopping around for pricing.

Yes it should stay running unless your disconnecting power from the the CDI. When you unplug this wire are there other wired on the same terminal that also get disconnected? The CDI is what makes the pulse going to your ignition coil primary which makes the spark. If it does not have power (remember yours is DC powered - unlike many other quads which are powered directly off AC voltage from the stator) you will have no spark and the quad will die.

So the quad starts and runs with this wire hooked up... I'm not quite understanding why you would disconnect major power wires and wonder why the quad stops... If you remove power to the CDI the quad will stop. What is it that makes you think this wire need to be disconnected? Is there a problem with this wire I'm unaware of?

Ok lets start over the wiring got melted from a fire theres a be + wire that comes from battery fused I'm assuming it goes to the ignition switch thats melted off 2 wire switch ok I'm tacking that wire running it to the handle bar brake switch 2 wires one side makes the brake light come on and start on and if I touch the 2 together it will start and run til I release them like your activating the switch.the other side makes the thing start and run and stay running however it will start in gear reverse or first am I missing something here does that hot wire not go to the brake switch I know it goes to the key but from there to where? Hour in key turn on hot out maybe somewhere else?
