taotao 110cc
#1
Hi guys we bought a taotao 110cc last year and for some reason it stoped working. I figured it was the key that wasnt making contact. Engine turns but would start. I played with the air screw and also idle. Now I got working but Im not sure of the air/fuel mixture. The other problem is ; It will idle but as soon has i give it a gaz it will run but if I let go the gaz it will die. Aslo I think the carburator is overfloating because fuel is leaking from the tube under the carb . screw is fully tight
- Engine idles and sometimes dies.
-Engine will die after giving some gaz
-fuel leaking from the overfloat tube
-how to correctly set the air fuel mixture on taotao 110cc 4 stroke.
Thanks !

Im pretty sure the carb doesnt have any issues other then old fuel that stood in there but I clean it all with brake cleaner in the car holes and tubing. Im pretty sure I messed the air/fuel misture and idle screw. To have it idle and not choke the idle screw must be almost completly in.

Have a look at these links.

I had before I asked the questions. I have no air leak anywhere and for air fuel mixture I have turned it 2 turn counterclockwise. And the have the ATV start up idle screw must be in almost completly

did you pull the carburetor off and clean the jets? both jets, idle and main jet? the little orifices and down the center have to be clean. you must see daylight through them all. as far as the float sticking, did you check the crankcase oil for gasoline contamination? sounds like the float needle valve is sticking. while you got the carb apart, check the needle valve for proper operation. if you don't know how, here's a video that can give you pointers. don't use a drill for the screws. also while you got it apart, take your bowl drain apart and check to see if it has an O-ring in it. it may not to begin with. clean that and then tighten back up. if you have gas in the oil, of course, change the oil.

now your carb may not be identical, it's the principle of the issue. they're basically the same. also make sure, if equipped, that the adapter at the intake tube/boot has the O-ring/gasket in the right way. that'll definitely help.

Yeah I had it off and shot brake cleaner in the jets. I rechecked and turns out the secondairy jet is blocked. So blocked I have tryed with thin electrical wire to go trought with no success then used a metal pin then a needle...nothing seems to find its way from side to side. and product i can use to make that old fuel brake loose??

try a tip cleaning tool used for torches.
FORNEY LONG OXY-ACETYLENE - WELDING ACCESSORIES
Not the best image but you get the idea. Ace hardware, sears, Hoarbor freight. They should all have them, each tool is like a little file.

as previously stated: i use the oxy acetylene torch tip cleaner pack, aerosol carb cleaner, and my air pistol from my air compressor. i have yet to not be able to break through an obstruction in the jets. it wouldn't hurt to soak it in the carb cleaner, then bore it out with a tip cleaner pack. give the chemical some time to work. if you don't have a tip cleaner pack, sometimes a wire off of the wire brush or a wire brush buffer is sturdy enough to handle the job. up to you.
