your main jet in the carb is plugged. remove carb, remove the jets, clean them thoroughly. make sure you see daylight through all orifices of that jet. don't just spray cleaner in it. you must remove the jets for the necessary cleanining or you'll just beat your head against the wall again. then reinstall everything and fire it up. make sure you put a fuel filter inline upstream of your carb. that'll help. it don't take a very big piece of debris or solids to plug a jet. you may think that jet is clean, but even a tiny piece of sand can cause this issue. clean the jets as if they were new from the factory. that should get you going.

(put a fuel filter inline upstream of your carb)WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU MEAN BY THAT??

upstream and downstream are generic flow descriptions. think of a river or stream, if you are in one place, and the flow is from your left to right, then to the left is considered upstream(source), and to your right is considered downstream(destination). hope that clears it up. here's some pics to help you out. many different kinds of filters. as previously stated: follow the directional arrows on the filter you buy/install, it should fit the hoses. if you have no place for one, guess what!!!! you can cut the hose in half and spud the filter in. that's the magic of rubber hoses

yes, i've even used these little red briggs/stratton fuel filters when i had to. hey, it worked. i do prefer the larger ones just for the sake of not starving the machine for fuel consumption and hitting a flow limitation through the filter. up to you. but remember, it's the same principle as your car/pick up truck. tank to filter to carb/fuel injection to engine. no difference, it's a gasoline powered machine.

i'm going to PM you some Eton hyperlinks that will also help you. make sure you put them in your internet browser "favorites" so you can refer to them whenever you want to or need them.
