Valve clearance / adjustment Tao Tao 110cc 52 mm piston??
What is the valve clearance? - intake valve clearance and exhaust clearance?
How does one adjust it?
do you turn the flywheel to Top Dead Centre TDC on the exhaust stroke and then adjust it?
Do you then turn it to TDC compression and then adjust it?
If one looks at highboost pic is that the compression or exhaust stroke??

I believe the valves should be set at .007 to .009 - but not 100% sure on that.
You adjust the valves only at TDC of the compression stroke. You will need a feeler guage. Take off the round opening and the valves are right there. Theres a small nut to loosen, then adjust the clearance in or out, checking with the feeler guage, then tighten the nut. Double check the clearance with the guage after tightening the little nut. Same process for both valves.

Facts:
Prior to removal turned the flywheel to TDC AND marked the:
1 Cylinder head on the housing or casing with the punched mark on the
cam gear sprocket (which is directly opposite to Highboosts marking)
2 I marked the cam shaft
3 the chain (but the marking on the chain is no longer there !@#)

I put the new Cylinder head on
Torqued the bolts somewhat but not completely yet
Question:
I turned the engine to TDC alligned with my marking above (LESS the chain marking) Not having a marking on the chain i pray that the chain is not one link too much to either side of the cam sprocket - IS THAT STILL POSSIBLE???
Now the only way i can comply with Johnson advice to adjust valves on the compression stroke is put my thumb over the spark plug whole and feel if the compression is on my marking or high boost and adjust???
I also heard that the valve clearance on the intake should be higher than on the Exhaust or vica versa????

The tolerance is .005 to .009. Some people do set them one higher than the other, but I never have.

- High boost marking ( and directly opposite my marking I believe = the exhaust stroke)
- Quad ran good

Thanks RON V its running ok not the greatest given the below
Ps I still have a flat spot when the throttle is hit on full open from stand still - I assume i would have to clean it once again although just about every 2nd tank gets carb / fuel injector cleaner added AND i will have to take the long journey or route with counting and messing with the fuel mixture and air screw
OR BUY A BETTER NEW CARB
