Electrical Issue- Calling out Lynn
#1
Hi All. 110cc. I've tried what i can and know how to. Currently, the b/w wire is disconnected from CDI (5-pin) and I have spark so I think its a safety switch issue. It will start but i have to choke it to turn it off. I've tried to start with brake off (won't start), key off (won't start), safety switch on handlebar off (won't start), but when the rear pull plug is out, it starts. Thought that was the problem, however, when I disconnect it from the two plugs, it still starts???? I thought by disconnecting at that point it would bypass??? My son is going crazy!! Thx

Your rear safety switch is probably bad. You can test it by a continuity test, when the rubber thing is off it, there should be a connection. When the rubber thing is on, there should be no connection (between the 2 wires)

I don't understand the "safety switch" connection. Safety switches prevent the starter from cranking unless the brakes are applied. This has nothing to do with spark. I'm confused by your statements. Please give more detail...

.Then you are saying then when you disconnect the tether from the (two!!) plugs it still starts... First, there is only one plug, right? Two wires perhaps? And when you unplug this it starts. And you claim that unplugging this bypasses the tether kill input. This is correct. And it starts like it should. Why does this surprise you?
Again I'm really confused. I need a lot more info. What exactly is your problem? Are you having trouble starting the quad, or shutting it off?
