does it idle or does it bog down when giving it throttle or does it fire up and shuts down? if it fires up and shuts down, are you giving it throttle to fire up while cranking? need some more details.

ok, it sounds like you have a fuel delivery problem. many videos on youtube covers the process of cleaning the carb/jets. in this video, your carb may not be identical to it, but the principle is the same. just don't use a drill for working over the screws. the jets must be removed and physically cleaned. you must see daylight through them. that is what feeds gasoline to the cylinder. let's start with cleaning the carb/jets.

just pay special attention to how it comes apart, the different parts that are inside, and their orientation. don't lose any parts, you'll be screwed. if you have to take notes or pics during disassembly, do it. that way you'll put it back together the correct way. things like the orientation of the slide, float, needle valve/seat, etc.....

cause if you put the slide back in and it's wrong, being 180° off, when the quad starts, it'll rev up high and you could blow the engine. so pay attention to the **** on the inside and the grooves on the slide. it'll be self explanatory once you see it.

ok, when riding that 100 yds, did it slow down and die or just cut off? i'm wondering if the float is sticking and not keeping up with the fuel demand and maintaining a level in the float bowl. give us some detailed info on how it ran, revved up, and how it died. OR, is it dying and not idling when sitting still or letting off of the throttle?
