Default New with problems

New to the forums, new to quads, not afraid to turn wrenches.

Short story, we went to brothers house for 4th of july, boys road on his 4 wheelers, instantly wanted one.

I bought 2 - A Kazuma 110 Falcon in excellent condition, no problems clean and a Kazuma 150? (RedCat per the seat cover) that runs but does not go into reverse. Total 300$ to my garage.

So i changed oil in the 110, easy peasey.

OMG! The 150 is silly stupid to drain.

Dude i bought it from said he had not changed it in quite a while so i wanted to do that first thing, however now I know why he didn't do it, its stripped and I mean stripped. I cant get vise grips on it, wrench, socket, nothing.

I don't have enough room to get my bolt out socket on it to force it out so i guess i need to drill it out and order another on ebay for like 10$. Ill take suggestions.

Bigger problem is reverse, does anyone have pictures of how the sifter is supposed to look on the transmission? I uploaded to a gallery on my profile my pictures so you can see what i am talking about. I am guessing a bar or something is missing cause when you pull back on the lever to take it to reverse nothing moves, look at the picture as I am having difficulty explaining it.

Thanks in advanced, im looking forward to spending some time here.

i guess the gator grip socket won't grab the plug either....probably best to drill it out or take a grinder make your own edges. tranny....so you've traced out the shifting mechanism down to the gearbox? do you see anything moving when actuating the shifter from up top? i got pics of the inside of a CVT tranny but not the outside of a kazuma.

Jaster, i got it figured out, both issues.

Was able to grind 4 clean sides on bolt and vise out. Brother has a replacement for me.

Reverse is solved, just need to figure out the bolts i need. In this picture below you can see what i was talking about, if i move it by hand she goes into reverse and out of it just fine.

great news! glad you got it figured out. i'm glad the reverse issue wasn't internal. bolts are cheap! use loctite for the shifter bolts. torque the drain plug.
