not familiar with these carbs in particular- but some carbs use a small rubber o-ring where the needle sits- if you used compressed air to blow out the needle & seat- there's a chance you also blew out that o-ring and the needle isn't properly sealing against the seat.... just a thought.

it is also possible that when you were blowing through the carb you were pushing the float to the shut off point but if it is out of adjustment that point may be past where the overflow kicks in.
