I cant imagine the spring shot back inside. Id think it would shoot across the ground..

 

He could have stuck the spring back in, then realized the plunger had also come out, the spring can't go anywhere so poke up the hole with a wire hook to check it isn't in there. Someone posted pictures of this plunger and spring last week, check recent posts, can't remember if it was in Kids or Chinese Quads.
