Default Need Help Identifying an engine

Hi guys,

I'm stumped. I'm some what familiar with GY6 engines but I have 3 chainese quads that seem to have me stumped. I suppose they are not GY6... but how do I figure out what they are? The one I'm working on now is of unknown origin it was "gifted to me" by someone who was cleaning out his garage. Just needs a chip he says... I thought oh a cdi that's easy... HA! Intake is missing, exhaust is disconnected... it's a basket case! seems to have good bones though... Might even consider just buying a new engine... but I don't know what to get... I know its a a 2 stroke, looks like maybe a 90 or 110 but thats realy a wild guess...

engine stamp? I've looked every I can think of bottom of the CVT, nada... all I could find was a stamp that says TR18 041942 doesn't seem like anything that means anything to me... Posted some pics in my album. can you guys gleen anything? any ideas where to look?

Howdy and thanks I added some more pics of the motor and the machine to my album, engine is still in it so its kinda hard to get a good picture of the engine.... There has to be a an engine number stamped on it somewhere right?

I'm a bit puzzled, it looks like the standard circa 90cc two stroke scooter engine that was used on things like the Polaris 90 and dozens of Chinese quads. Am I missing something?

Probably not... I'm sure I am... I don't know alot about the 2t motors. give me a 4t CY6 and I understand what I got.... Perhaps I'm over thinking it, but these lil suckers are bit of a mystery to me not sure where to get parts or which parts to get. In the past when I've called parts dealers they want me to go fine the engine number... And well I can't find one.... any suggestions?

What you have here is what's commonly called a "jog" motor.
Like mentioned, used by kasea/eton/polaris/DRR/apex/and some chinese machines. There are some case and gearbox differences. Cylinders/pistons are all the same.
Call the good ppl at Hetrickracing.com and tell them I (LT80 Jack) sent you and that you are looking for stock replacement parts. I'm sure Michelle can help.
