Panther 110 no lights, no power to anything
#1
So I just bought this atv for my son for christmas. Couldn't afford new right now so bought a used one. The headlight doesn't come on but at first the taillight/brake light did. The starter also tried to turn over and on occassion would turn it over a couple times. Rolled it out of the building to try to "jump" it since the battery is toast, got it out to the car and no lights, starter button doesn't do anything, seems to have absolutely no power at all.
This is the model with the remote control module. Pressing the lock or unlock button causes a chirp so I know there is power getting there. Have no clue where to even begin with this. It was dark and cold so I couldn't really dive into it to try and find any problems or trace wires. I did check the inline fuse on the small red wire coming off the battery side of the solenoid. The fuse checked out good.
Any ideas or guidance?

Id start with a charged battery.. I have hooked my Chinese quads up to a car battery (with the car engine off) using jumper cables.. Id do this to establish the engine turns over and to make sure you have spark.. Next is to see if you have fuel..

I did hook it up to a car battery last night. When I did I still got no power to anything except the remote control box, I could hit the lock and unlock and get the chirps that go with it but nothing else. If I connected the positive jumper to the starter side of the solenoid it would crank and run but that's it. When I had the solenoid jumped the brake lights flickered on and off a couple times but didn't do that anymore than 3 times.

Ok, so you know when your in a rush to get something working and you sometimes overlook the simple things?
Had no clue this thing had a safety lockout on the brake lever. Got it up on the bench today and was about to start testing all of the wiring to see if there was a short. Brake lever happened to be eye level and I saw the 2 wires coming out of it. Squeezed the brake and hit the start button and fired right up. Brake light was operation as was the headlight.
Only thing is there doesn't seem to be a "running" light for the brake, it lights up when brakes are pressed but otherwise is out. Is this normal or is there still possibly a short somewhere? Looks to be an LED brake light.
