I have a 2007 Hi-Bird 250cc.
A cpl of things I need help with.
1. Starter doesn't crank the motor. Just spins.
New stator,coil,dual gear for starter and new starter.
I can get it started if I get someone to pull me with another vehicle.
2. Once I get it going I can't let off the gas cause if I do let off its dies. Once it warms up I can decrease some of the choke and runs better but still won't idle.
I need help . My thumb gets tired and starts to cramp up. Lol plz help me out thought.

 

Have you connected the battery the right way round? Is the starter the right one, are the gears and one way clutch right. On some bikes you can put the one way clutch in backwards, this will spin the starter all the time the bike is running, not good.

 

The idle issue to me sounds like a carb issue. Have you tried cleaning the carb?

 

I agree with the carb needing cleaning..
