Try loosening the exhaust. Might as well elimate that aspect.
Like you, I think the plug is fine.

I am still waiting on a new CDI.

Even though I have spark. So I don't have any updates. If this does not fix the problem somehow the quad must have had the timing messed with. Also going to replace the regulator.
