I bought a Tao Tao from a friend for $50 that was in pretty rough shape, I was able to get it running but I let my dad use it for a while and now that I have it back I can't get it to start and stay running. The choke wants to stay engaged because it is an electric choke. I bought a new carb for it just like this one:

But the electric choke on that isn't working either. I took a test light to the wiring for the choke and oddly both wires show that they are ground wires with no power. Should one or even both of them be powered?
This 4 wheeler was missing the ignition switch when I bought it, so I have bought a new one from Ebay for a Tao Tao and matched the wires and hooked it up, but that hasn't helped, either.

Any help would be really appreciated.

 

Ever get this fixed? I just replaced the carb on a Tao Tao 125 and it still won't start unless I spray starter fluid in the carb, which means a fuel delivery issue...driving me nuts
