Hi.
My 2011 atv suddenly stopped when I was reversing, used hard while moving snow.

no spark when I push the button, but sparks alot when I relase the button.

it starts sometimes but then misfires and dies.

So, any common faults I should look for?

Sadly this is quite common, and nobody has ever sent in a convincing answer. Some say it is dirt on the flywheel and trigger coil, but I have my doubts about that. I did find, on a Honda 350, that a faulty neutral light gave the same symptoms, as the neutral light circuit also had a wire to the CDI box, which presumably, is supposed to increase spark when in neutral. Without it, you got no spark when using starter, but it sparked as soon as you released the start button.

 

Yeah, its so strange. I left it over nigth and it started rigth up. It runs perfect for like 40sec and then stop. Same problem.

Change the plug first, cheapest and easiest to swap. Could also be ignition coil, cdi, exciter coil or trigger coil, or a wiring fault. If all else fails, changing one at a time until something works, is the only answer with this sort of fault.

 

Sparkplug, wiring, coil is allready checkd and is ok. Anybody know any commen faults.
