Hey guys, new to forum and really good info on all kinds of 4 wheelers here. I just bought (for a song) a 2005 Linhai 260 Mountineer 4x4. has the 260 Yamaha / Linhai motor. The older man who had it before got sick and died while working on it and i got it from his son in law. Had to put a starter on it turned and it over with no problem but no spark. I tested coil-kill switch-stator and pickup coil(as well as associated wiring) all seem good but still no spark. I can turn on switch and turn kill switch on and off and get a nice spark. I'm thinking the capacitator in the cdi unit may be bad....one thing that i'm not sure of since it is a DC powered CDI does the capacitator charge from DC current or from ac stator voltage? anyway if any of you have any tips let me know. thanks Larry

 

Id take a closer look at this switch.. if switching it off and on gets you spark Id think it has a short..
