Default Need to make basic harness for spark

Hello, I have a Chinese gn300 (lc178fmn) motor I'm swapping into a another frame. I just want to get spark at this point. I don't have a harness but I do have the original CDI and an aftermarket 300cc CDI as well. The 5 wire stator has 2 plugs - a 2 pin (blue/white) (green/white) and a 3 pin all yellow. My question is are any of the 3 yellow wires needed to create spark? And does anyone know where I can find any information / wiring diagrams for this motor. I can't seem to find much. Thanks
upd

Wires from stator

6 pin stock CDI

2 terminal coil

My guess would be you have a DC ignition set up, but there is no easy way to tell unless the CDI only has 4 pins, if it has, it is DC, blue/white wire is almost certain to be trigger coil wire, green/white probably return for trigger coil, check if it is earthed to engine, if it is, it could be the power feed for an AC CDI, but probably not. If it only bells out to the blue/white, then it is the other trigger coil wire, and the system is DC. Then comes another problem, there are two DC systems, one mimics the AC system except the wire usually fed AC power is fed pos from battery. The other mimics old cars, and the CDI replaces the points, so the coil on these is fed 12v pos all the time from ignition switch, and the CDI sends a neg pulse to the coil at the right time, so these systems use a different coil to normal CDIs. There is an AC/DC hybrid used by Honda, which does use a yellow wire from the stator, but thankfully nobody else seems to use this set up.

thanks for the reply. The fact the stator does not have the black/red wire most the other Chinese quads have is throwing me off. I've tried wiring an aftermarket coil and CDI, with replacing the black/red that is normally there with a 12v pos from the battery. With no luck. When I crank the motor, I get a pulsing signal using the test light on the blue/white wire from the stator to the CDI. I can't seem to get a signal coming out from the CDI that would go to the coil. I'm certain I'm missing something. Being fairly new to riding and building in general. Again, any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated. If any more info would help let me know. Thanks

The fact that the coil has a metal lug for mounting it could indicate a car style DC set up, Honda AC units are not earthed to the frame, however some AC units are, so that isn't a certainty. What is the green/white? an earth onto stator or the return for the blue/white? Were you testing blue/white against earth when you got the pulse? As the CDI has 6 wires I think you are best forgetting it, because you have no way of knowing what the wires do. My personal preference would be to fit a car style "ignitor" and coil from a Kawasaki Lakota or KLF300, but a Chinese style DC CDI set up for a GY6 should work, provided you get CDI and coil to match. Advance curves may not be perfect, but they shouldn't be too far out.

Thanks, I'm not sure what the green/white is. Both the blue and green run directly into the pick-up/pulse coil. It's doesn't appear to be grounded. I was testing the blue against the neg battery terminal when I got the pulse while cranking. I have tried an old gy6 CDI And coil with the same results. I will order a new one and try that. I really don't want to give up on this project as I spent allot of time just mounting the motor to the frame. Any chance you could send me a link to the "igniter" you are referring to? And thanks for helping me out with this I really appreciate it!

FIXED! Thanks merryman! New Gy6 cdi and she sparked right up. I found an adjustable Cdi so I can advance or retard the timing a bit. Can't wait to get this thing running!

Hi how’s things, I’ve a Chinese motor exact same stator set up and output as you have just interested in a link to the cdi/coil that you bought? And if anyone has gotten it running off the factory 6 pin dc cdi? I’m guessing that the green/white is a return to the cdi box, which has green (earth) black and white, two blue and white wires, solid black, interesting to how they went about it in this manor and very confusing but hopefully I’ll get the better of it with trial and error
