After hours upon hours of working on my quad, which one day went from running great to not starting at all I am stuck.

1st thing that went bad was the starter switch ( one w the lights / kill switch on it ) ordered a new one, tryed to install - never worked. Went and bought a button switch - hooked it directly to the solenoid and wala!

when trying to diagnose why the quad won’t start - here are a few things I have done. Replaced entire carb ( original one didn’t have screws to get to the bowl - did this assuming no gas ). Then replaced spark plug ( did this thinking with a new carb, should be getting gas but no spark ). Carb has gas - spark plug works - nothing -

tryed spraying starter spray down carb ( removing air filter ) nothing

figured it might be the battery - gave it a full charge - a tiny something - when cranking the engine, and fiddling the choke up and down, and giving it gas from the throttle - it increased a very quick speed with the “ Thut “ sound -

thut thut thut thut thut finally so fast it got me to the point where with my finger on the throttle it would rev. And Smoke and smell real bad - and then eventually turned off.

the quick pace of thutting comes to an end fast because by now my battery hates me and can only take the abuse for about 5-8 try’s of trying to start this thing - What is the “ thutting “ sound ? Why won’t this thing start - where do I need to look for more info? Please help!!

all the advice I got was to put this thing down by the road and light it on fire - China ugh. Good news is I have 2 of them, and besides a couple parts rattling off of the other one do to beat down and vibration - it runs great!!!
