Hello all,
I sure am having some issues trying to fix my sons 2021 70cc fox atv. I recently bought and replaced the cylinder head because a screw from the choke on the carb came off and got jammed in one of the valves so that’s where my first issue started. I have new head on, timing chain lined up correctly to the motors dead top on the flywheel. I set the valves to .004. I hooked a battery to the neg on the starter, then a jumper from positive to tap the starter for the motor to start, but all it does is spin the starter and the chain connected to the starter and around the flywheel but won’t spin the flywheel? Is something now wrong with the stator? I’m so frustrated with this motor. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Starter clutch sounds like not enaging? Is the starter turning backwards? Did you remove the flywheel?

 

Where would the starter clutch be? I didn’t do anything with the flywheel. I did buy a new starter but it started before so it should be going the wrong way. If I turn the flywheel by hand, it engages the motor

 

It bolted to the flywheel if old starter work and new one doesnt starter going wrong deiection remove new starter and get old starter and put side by side and
hook battery power to them an watch direction

 

If it has kickstarter on the side could be on it I dont have a parts breakdown sorry try the starter trick first
