Default O-ring for oil dipstick??

I need a new o-ring for my son's oil dipstick. Where can I find one or the correct size? Here is a picture of the dipstick.

Thanks for your help!

Usually hardware stores have assorted o-rings that you can pick through. Sometimes they're stored in obscure places - you may have to ask.

Else Mcmaster Carr (www.mcmaster.com) will have them. You may have to splurge and buy a package of 25 for $5.00 . Buna-N is a fairly common O-ring material that resists oil. Neoprene is not so good.

Like Lynn said, take it to Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes etc...

Go back and check they're assorted bolts. nuts and washer area. If they don't have it there, check out the plumbing section. Specifically the faucet repair area. That's where the oil cap oring came from on my motorcycle.

don't forget about O'Reilly's, autozone, advance auto parts, napa, and other auto parts stores. Tractor supply may have them also.

I've given up on Auto Zone. I'm sure it's more the workers than the store itself, but they just point you over to the aisle with the package nuts and bolts. Needed one 12mm nut and a lock washer. Asked specifically for one of each. Guy says this is all they have. Packs were 3.99 each, went to home depot and still had to buy a pack, but at 89¢ each.

Went to NAPA this afternoon. They found a replacement in the air conditioner o-ring parts. I guess it goes in a compressor. He said it was oil resistant. It is green. Got home and put it on the dipstick and no more leaks. Will see how it holds up. Thanks again for everyone's help.
