Chinese Quads

I'm familiar with all of that, including the drywall situation in Florida.
Once again (for the umpteenth time), I am not arguing that overall Chinese manufacturing quality is currently up to Japanese or western standards. I am arguing they are on an upward trend, and it's quite noticably in some product categories. I am also arguing that the factors responsible for this are very difficult to avoid and will likely impact the ATV market over the long term.
I read, while researching Artic Cat for this discussion, that they will no longer use Suzuki for motors starting in 2014. Any indication of where the next motors will come from. I'm going to say China.

that's a long upward trend (1 step forward / 2 stepd back kind off trend
)and- you'll never see an AC with a chinese motor.

I'm going to stop kicking this horse now, as it appears to be dead. Last word to you, if you care to...

You're unwillingness to acknowledge easily observable facts doesn't make them less real.
We'll see. If the ICs in an American made ATV can be made in a Chinese plant, then so can anything else on that ATV.

Put that on your table and eat it.

Kawasaki stopped using the Zuk 400 for the kfx. They made their own 450 and did away with the 400.

sure- I'll take it, I usually don't get that option at home...
facts? more like your opinions.... because personally, all I see coming out of china is more poor quality items, **** poor service and lower standards.

While AC may not use the Suzuki engines anymore they do have in house engines and also use Kymco for there sub-400cc quads. Kymco is Korean and they are more of a company that started with sub-standard machines that is getting closer to making quads almost as good as the major makers. Chinese quads have been out longer than the Korean makes and still are pretty much the same garbage they started with almost 8-9 years ago.

rbstern, one of the things I think you may be missing is the used market. Plenty of Japanese machines still available from this sports infancy. You can find early 80's Honda/Yamaha/Kawasaki trikes all day long on CL. Heck, my old '85 Quadracer just changed hands for at least the second time since I sold it, and it is still going strong. I personally have an '86 Honda TRX250R, starts first kick and runs great. I have a '96 TRX 90 which I have literally only changed the oil and the spark plug in that looks pretty used, but runs perfect. Any one of those machines is still desirable, still has a market, still has manufacturer and aftermarket parts support for...
Nobody wants a tv from '86 anymore. Many wouldn't even drive a car from '86 anymore! However, an atv from the "big 4" can still have tons of serviceable life left and WILL sell. Sure, I see plenty of Chinese atvs for sale on CL these days. Problem is, most of the manufacturers have gone out of business or changed names. It can be a hassle to find parts for them. Most service shops won't touch them, so the owner needs to be able to trouble shoot and spin a wrench. In 20 years I don't foresee many of the current Chinese models still running.
btw, I won't blame you if you respond
